Become Disciples of Christ
“Every disciple is a believer, but not every believer is a disciple”
Take your life as a Christian to a new level by moving from merely being a believer to a disciple – one who leads others to follow Christ as he commissioned his own apostles.
Many of us find ourselves simply repeating the same things over and over each week. We go to church on Sunday, maybe mid-week as well, maybe go to a group bible study, but little else. We don’t even read the bible for ourselves. We wear Christianity like a pair of comfortable slippers.
While God is glad we have been saved, he has only gained one soul. His church is not going to grow by very much if everyone does that. And we are not going to grow either. We have so much more potential, if only we can find the courage to lead others to discover what we have been freely given.
We don’t have to be clever or full of biblical knowledge, only willing. We don’t need to become some sort of special “Super Christian” or go door-to-door trying to ram religion down people’s throats. That is not how Jesus ministered, so nor should we. People come to Christ through attraction, not coercion.
Purpose of This Website
The aim of this site is to help you know both why and how to become disciples of Christ, via a series of blog posts. I am nobody special, simply a layperson, as you probably are as well.
If you have found yourself on this site and are not a Christian or only a new believer, you may want to visit my other site The Way, which is more about the birth of Christianity and includes a narrative I made by combining all four Gospels into one.
Non Denominational
I am not approaching discipleship from any denominational viewpoint. My view on Christianity is exactly how it is written in the bible and practised by the early church. Christ is the head of the church and we are all members of the body of that church.
In explaining why or how to be a disciple, I will be using quotes directly from Scripture and endeavouring to expand on a topic as it applies to me and other Christians in the 21st century. The primary aim of discipleship is to spread the Gospel, which literally means, the “Good News”.
